Water Balloon Math
Sneaky arithmetic meets summer's greatest weapon. They'll beg for 'one more round' of multiplication.
Write numbers on water balloons with a permanent marker — or tape paper numbers on. Call out math problems; the kid who solves it gets to throw that balloon at the target (a bucket, a fence, a willing parent).
For younger kids, skip the math: number the balloons 1–10 and have them throw in order. For older ones, try multiplication or simple fractions. The cold water makes every correct answer feel like a victory.
You'll need: a pack of balloons, a quick-fill nozzle (the fast-fill kind saves the whole activity), and towels. Set a clear throwing zone so nobody's water gets in anyone's eyes.
Endgame: the last five minutes are a free-for-all. This is non-negotiable. It is the law.
