Park Playdate + Picnic Swap
Everyone brings one dish, nobody cooks a full meal, and the kids run themselves tired.
The formula: pick a park with a playground, set a time, and have each family bring one picnic item — sandwiches, fruit, chips, drinks. Text the list around so you don't end up with four bags of chips.
Arrive 15 minutes early to claim a table. Bring a blanket as backup seating and a trash bag, because park bins are always mysteriously full.
The playground does 90% of the entertaining. Your job is the food table and the occasional conflict mediation. This is the lowest-effort playdate with the highest fun-per-minute ratio in existence.
End with a group photo and a standing plan: same park, same time next month. Recurring playdates are how acquaintances become the village.
