Why We Built a Family Calendar for Playdates
September 16, 2026
Not another parenting app — an answer to a specific, maddening problem: the playdate that dies in the group chat.
Here's the problem we kept hitting: planning a playdate meant a group text, three calendar apps, and a prayer. Somewhere between 'sounds fun!' and 'wait, which Saturday?' the plan would quietly die.
So we built the thing we wished existed: one shared family calendar that holds every kid's schedule, invitations that go out by text, and RSVPs that update the second someone replies. No accounts for the guests, no new app for grandma to learn.
We started with the calendar because that's where the chaos lives. Everything else — the ideas library, the city guides — exists to make the time on that calendar better.
It's early days and we're building in the open. If you try it and something's confusing, tell us. The roadmap is basically a list of things parents have asked for, and we'd like to keep it that way.
